After the completion of a degree program, most of the graduates have very limited opportunities to change his/her professional field due to the limited scope of his degree program. However, if a graduate is able to change his profession in many fields achieving his ambitions and goals due his first degree, it gives and empowers the degree holder. When it comes to this point, B.Sc. Degree in Insurance and Risk Management provides various professional paths such as General Insurance, Life Assurance, Marketing, Risk Management, Actuarial Science, Business Management, Disaster Management, Development Planning, National Development, Political Careers etc… Insurance industry contributes high percentage to the Gross Domestic Production (GDP) through the service sector maintaining continuous future growth

There are more than 35 Insurance companies in Sri Lanka. Insurance industry is a fast-growing industry in the country after the introduction of open economy and globalization process. Furthermore, insurance industry plays a greater role for the growth of the global economy also. Health insurance is essential for all the citizens in Developed countries but health facilities are free in Sri Lanka. On top of this, most of the public and private sector organizations provide health insurance and variety of insurance facilities for the employees in Sri Lankan. As a result, there is a huge demand for the insurance and risk management related fields in Sri Lanka and the world. Outside Therefore, demand for the Insurance and Risk Management experts is very high nationally and globally. This high demand is fulfilled by the graduates of Insurance and Risk Management degree program. There are three national Universities in Sri Lanka to offer an insurance related degree. In addition to Insurance companies, there are more than 50 Insurance brokering companies in the country. All these institutes want to recruit qualified graduates for their institutes. However, they are unable to find required number of Insurance graduates since our Universities do not produce enough number. In the private sector, only SANASA Campus provides a degree program of Insurance and Risk Management.

Teaching, training and employment opportunities 

People who graduate from an Insurance and Risk Management degree program may have a variety of career opportunities along with the high salary scales and faster career growth than average. Career goals of a graduate are able to fulfil successfully just after the completion of B.Sc. in Insurance and Risk Management Degree conducted by the SANASA Campus.

Insurance degree has not yet become part of regular curriculum of most universities of the country. Therefore, this degree provides a platform to the students to be a good entrepreneur in the business world if they wish to be.  On the other hand, throughout the programmed we try our best to   improve the analytical skills of our students in the academic activities as well as practical skills by providing work environments. SANASA Campus has introduced Work Based Learning program for students from the first year onwards during the first three days of the week (Monday to Wednesday) students engaged with the selected insurance company under the academic guidelines with the academic staff. They spend the next three days (Thursday to Saturday) engaged in in learning at the classroom and library environment. Furthermore, this degree offers to you Comprised of IT and English as non-credit subjects throughout the first three years.

Still, there are only a few numbers of Insurance and Risk management graduates. Therefore, the students who will join with us will be the true pioneers; as part of the student community of a new university with a unique mission, there is huge demand for Insurance graduates in various field. The few of these include,

  • Positions of Insurance and Risk Managers of various business organizations.
  • There are more than 25 Insurance companies operating in Sri Lanka There is huge demand for the technically qualified Insurance.
  • More than 50 Insurance Brokering companies’ which are required qualified professionals to obtain their licenses

Course Requirement

  • C.E. (Advanced Level) Examination with 3 “Ss” or above & over 30% of General Knowledge Paper.Or
  • Employees of the Insurance industry- with recognized Insurance Diploma and Higher Insurance Diploma
