Training Objectives

The overall objective of the program is to contribute to the growth and efficiency of the microfinance industry through human capacity building. The course develops all basic skills necessary for effective performance of micro-finance practitioners. It is expected to explain the best practices of Microfinance along with quality management system to ensure good governance in the operations.

Expected Results

  • To develop an understanding of the general issues and approaches to microfinance
  • To enhance self-confidence and the ability to critically evaluate microfinance and develop solutions from the moral, professional and academic perspectives
  • To instill problem-solving attitudes and business ethics in the practice of microfinance.
  • To prepare the candidates for progression to degree levels

Training Methodology

Lectures and discussions, Group projects, Case studies, Assignments, Independent project work including the final project report and presentation.

Assessment

  • 20% – case studies, presentations
  • 60% – written examinations
  • 20% – field project, report and presentation

Target Audience

The main target group for HDMF program is the growing microfinance industry. This includes cooperatives and public and private sector organizations concerned with micro-finance policy, program design, consulting, training as well as delivery. The target clients are potential and existing practitioners in the industry.

  • Maximum no. of participants per training is 20.
  • Minimum no. of participants per training is 10.
